W ith the rain gods showering their blessings upon us by turning the dry brownish barren land into a green moist carpet all around, every nook and corner looks absolutely breathtaking in this season, be it the plains or Satpura of Madhya Pradesh, hills of Northern India or the peninsular plateau.  One prominent geographical feature which stands out from the rest is the Western Ghats located on the West coast of India. Western ghats are the mountainous regions running parallel to West Coast from Gujarat till Kerala. Of the various mesmerising sections of Western Ghats one is the Sahyadaris ( located in Maharashtra). Today morning around 10:00 A.M, I was checking news on Cyclone Tauktae "India's first cyclone of 2021". I was left shocked as the cyclone which was bound to be a cyclone of least category got amplified over the past few days and became another "Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm", which prompted me to write about the growing concerns of such extreme weather events over Indian mainland. This is not the only time a cyclone of such category is brewing up in Indian Seas.
